I am a Canadian economist and I stopped reading Umaair Haque specifically due to all the doom-and-gloom, out-of-reality hyperbole. No, the USA will NOT soon look like Nazi Germany or the other many ridiculous claims he has made. The USA has many structural issues, i agree on that… but Umair’s lack of nuance and rigour really kill it for me. Thanks for the excellent text… and I agree on the sad reality of the “attention economy”…
